MARVIN & GIGI

Our Story

Marvin and Gigi met at Michigan State University in September 2005. During Gigi’s first week as a freshman, Pazong and Paee (Gigi’s cousins) took her to a student organization’s welcome reception to expose her to college and meet new people.  Pazong and Paee were friends with Marvin and introduced Gigi to him at the reception.  Although Gigi doesn’t recall this event, this was actually the first time they met.   

 

Marvin and Gigi rarely saw each other on campus.  The next time they did was over a month later when Gigi and Stacy (Gigi’s friend) went to a student organization’s potluck.  Since food was being served, Marvin was there too.  Gigi and Stacy arrived to the potluck late…so late that there was no food left.  When Marvin saw the look of disappointment, despair, and hunger on their faces after finding out, he went over to them and said, “There’s still rice.”  Little did he know, Marvin had Gigi at “rice.”         

 

In her search to see Marvin again, Gigi went to every club party hoping to find him.  She eventually set up an account on this new thing called “Facebook” so she could try to find and stalk him. 

 

One Saturday morning in November, she woke up at 7am and found what seemed to be him on Facebook.  She added Marvin, hoping he would actually remember her.  The funny thing was that after meeting her in September, Marvin was looking for “Gigi” on Facebook, but didn’t find her.  He was confused when “Virginie” added him, but he accepted anyways.  Immediately after accepting, they started chatting on AOL instant messenger.  Her screen name was lilhunniexx.  his was martian29.

 

After a couple months of getting to know each other, Marvin asked Gigi to be his girlfriend.  They officially became a couple on January 25, 2006.
